We're looking for a Registered Social Worker to join the Hoki ki te Kāinga team, which translates as “Returning Home”. We are an interdisciplinary early supported discharge team working in the community to support people in their transition home from hospital. You would mainly be working with older adults who are recovering from an illness, injury or surgery.
Hoki ki te Kāinga is a growing service and we want someone who will grow with us! We encourage and support people who are innovative, eager to learn and enhance their skills, and are passionate about caring for our community. You’ll be dealing in the business of people every day so communication, patience and empathy should be high on your list of attributes.
You’ll bring your experience of working within the rehabilitation, geriatric or community settings; and your exceptional interpersonal skills. You’ll be passionate about improving health outcomes for our clients, and making a real difference to the people you work with.
This position is new to the team, and requires someone with the skills to establish the social work role within Hoki ki te Kāinga. Our successful candidate will need to be able to support vulnerable people in the community, and create links with other community services in Hawke’s Bay. We are looking for someone who will enable our clients to take control and continue working on their goals long after our service is finished. This role also includes the coaching and supervision of Rehabilitation Assistants.
