Part time, 20 hours per week
The Community Stroke Rehabilitation (CSR) Team is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their team.
CSR provides stroke specialist rehabilitation in the clients own homes with a focus on community reintegration and promotion of self-management. You will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team using your expertise in assessment and clinical interventions to deliver rehabilitation including an early supported discharge model of care. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a dynamic team, leading the delivery of stroke rehabilitation in the community.
You will be professionally supported by a section head and other experienced Occupational Therapists as well as the wider team of Physiotherapists, Rehab Assistants, Needs Co-ordinator, Speech and Language Therapists, Social workers, Nurses, Psychologists, Dieticians and Doctors.
CMDHB is committed to enabling our patients to be self-managers and you will be supported to work collaboratively with patients, carers and other health care professionals. There is scope for service development and implementing projects to improve the care of your patients. Ideally you will be able to work autonomously, as well as part of an inter-disciplinary team and ongoing support will be provided as required. CMDHB fully supports ongoing education and development of all employees including regular supervision and in-services.

A minimum of two years experience in a rehabilitation setting
NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current practising certificate
Strong communication skills
Commitment to client centred rehabilitation
Full current NZ driver's license
Experience supervising others
Refund of your annual practising certificate cost as per policy guidelines
Contribution towards your NZSP subscription
