Contract: Permanent - part time, 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Hours: Rostered and rotating shifts
ABOUT THE SERVICE
The Central Sterile Sciences Department (CSSD) performs a critical role within the perioperative department. They undertake the effective and safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices, limiting the transmission of infectious agents which is essential to the safety of patients and staff. CSSD operates from 7am to 11pm seven days per week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Sterile Sciences Technicians work in a modern facility managing surgical equipment from many specialities. CSSD operates the latest in tracking systems for ensuring the quality of our products. Quality and ongoing professional development are encouraged and our experienced technicians provide mentoring for our new trainees.
In this role you will also be required
to work rostered and rotating shifts including weekends.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Registration as a Sterile Sciences Technician, and membership of the NZSSA
- Minimum qualification L4 or above certificate in sterilizing technology (L3 prior to 2018
- Ability to work independently while being part of a larger team
Consideration will also be given to candidates with experience in an alternative health field or recent school leavers who are looking to begin a career in health.
