The details: Permanent – 20 hours per week
We have a rare opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Southern Cluster ICAMH’s team.
We are looking for a motivated clinical psychologist, who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives children and young people. A passion to work with tamariki, rangatahi, and their whanau is a key part of the role.
You will have the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team including both DHB and NGO clinicians. The wider team is made up of community mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and clinical psychologists, so you will be well supported.
This position will combine both assessment and psychological treatment for tamariki and rangatahi experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as inclusion of whanau in the recovery journey. It will be important that you are comfortable working with a variety of clinical presentations, however a specific interest in eating disorders would be a valuable contribution you could make.
It will be important that you can work both independently but also as part of a team and therefore being able to maintain excellent working relationships with both clinicians and whanau is vital.
The Southern Cluster covers four bases: Te Awamutu, Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui so the willingness to travel is a must.
There are opportunities to participate in regular professional development, clinical support and supervision, as well as access to an individual continuing professional development fund.
As the successful candidate you will:
• Be a registered Clinical Psychologist with the NZ Psychologist's Board.
• Have a current APC.
• Be able to work collaboratively with clinicians and whanau.
• Be recovery focused and client centred.
• Be sensitive to all cultures and able to apply the Treaty of Waitangi principles into practice.
• Be the holder of a current full drivers licence.
