Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We have two great full time, permanent opportunities available in our Screening Service:
Community Health Worker Breast & Cervical Screening Support
Community Co-ordinator - Bowel Screening Support
We are seeking a Community Health Worker to join our Breast and Cervical Screening services. In this role, you would follow up with priority women who have either never been screened or are overdue for either breast or cervical screening. You would need to engage with the women predominately by telephone and in the community to educate them on the importance of having regular screening, supporting their enrolment into the screening programmes and providing support and transport if required to screening, assessment, colposcopy and their first treatment appointments.
We are seeking a Community Co-ordinator to promote the Bowel Screening Programme. In this role you will engage, educate, encourage and support the participation of priority groups. Focus will be given to promoting the programme and follow-up of priority participants who have failed to complete a screening FIT (faecal immunochemical test). The role will also include ensuring participants attend any further appointments if required, including providing support to attend colonoscopy, alternative assessment processes or first treatment appointments. The age range of eligible priority groups is 60 to 74 years old.
Important to note for these roles:
Having a full, clean drivers licence would be essential in both of these roles as you will be required to drive patients using our Counties fleet vehicles. We are not able to consider applicants on restricted licences and below.
Some evening and weekend work will be required, in order to have a wider reach. This may include attending community events and promotional activities and to contact participants who have not responded to other invitation and recall processes.
