Mō mātou |About us
As New Zealand's national statistics office, Tatauranga Aotearoa Stats NZ is uniquely positioned to support the decisions that the Government, Māori and Iwi organisations, businesses, NGOs, and New Zealanders make every day. Our structure, culture, and systems are designed with collaboration and customers in mind - mobilised and working together to realise our ambition: About Aotearoa, for Aotearoa - data that improves lives today and for generations to come.
Mō te tūnga | The role
We're looking for a manager to support our Household Collections and Data Integration team, leading up to eighteen staff across the motu with another manager. You'll report to the Senior Manager, Statistical Methods - Questionnaires, Households and Data Integration.
The Household Collection and Data Integration team provides methodological support to most of the household surveys for Statistics NZ. Currently we are expanding the household survey program so that the Government Statistician will be able to report annually on ten measures of child poverty as stated in the Child Poverty Reduction Act 2018. Additionally, this team supports the data integration needs of the organisation, such as the Integrated Data Infrastructure.
This manager role has been created to support the growing size and scope of the team, which has increased over the past year to meet the demands upon it. This role is primarily about people leadership, so while an understanding of the work we do is useful, it's not critical - you'll build that as you go.
As a leadership team, we work hard in a fun and supportive environment, plus we have a lot of cool data and statistics across our business unit.
Starting salary: $110,614 - $130,134 negotiable
