Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
We are looking for a communications and engagement leader who will help us tell a story about Counties Manukau, its people and how healthcare can make a difference in our communities lives. This leadership role reports directly to our CEO, reflecting the importance we place on communicating with our staff, and connecting with our patients and community. The position leads a large team; working across internal and external communications and engagement, with 4 direct reports.
Now is a great time to join the team; this role will own and shape our communications strategy to best meet the organisations goals, working in close partnership with the CEO, Executive Leaders and other senior stakeholders.
Key duties include:
Leading the communications and engagement team in providing the full range of communications services, internally and externally
Developing proactive communications programmes that `tell the story of Counties Manukau healthcare the people that delivery it and the people that experience that care in context of a diverse, dynamic and fast growing and proud South Auckland context
Creating innovative ways to engage and interact with staff, patients and the community
Collaborating with regional and national colleagues to ensure clear and consistent communication approaches

Experience of wide channels, storytelling for diverse communities Maaori, Pacific, Asian among the many people we serve
A passion for engaging with people and alignment with our organisational values
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of creating and leading successful communications programmes across a range of channels and formats
Excellent relationship building skills and experience communicating at executive management and governance level
Proactive and reactive media management
Significant experience working in large complex organisation
Solid experience in channel management, integrating social media tools and other engagement platforms with a finesse for storytelling and innovation

The salary range for this position is between $176,367 - $228,240, dependent on your skills and experience.
