Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Commercial Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides agile and flexible procurement services to support the Ministry's overseas aid programme and other key initiatives. We focus on delivering great outcomes through collaborative approaches and establishing strong business relationships. We are part of an integrated system that enables the Ministry to do great things in the world.
We have a vacancy for a Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager to lead one of our customer focused procurement teams.
This is one of our key commercial leadership roles in which you will be directly responsible for leading a team that supports the Ministry's infrastructure procurement and New Zealand's overseas aid programme.
In this role you will:
- Lead a commercial team to enable the delivery of excellent procurement services
- Implement innovative agile solutions to achieve great outcomes
- Utilise your commercial and leadership skills to make a real difference in the world.
You will also provide leadership within the Commercial Division, and across the Ministry, with regard to driving practical procurement solutions to deliver great outcomes. In doing this you will find yourself actively involved in delivering some of the most significant outcomes the Ministry is tasked to achieve.
The appointment range for this role is $130 to $160k per annum including employer contribution to kiwisaver - negotiable depending on experience.

- Previous experience as a people leader and manager
