Wellington Regional Children s Hospital provides specialist tertiary level care for young patients requiring Medical, Surgical, Oncology and sub-specialty care. Staffed by a dedicated team of experienced doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. Nursing personnel are an essential service to meet the needs of children and their families/whanau.
Te Wao Nui is the new children s hospital currently being built and is due to be completed in mid-2022. We have an established project team of staff and experts to ensure this development is the best environment for the children. This new state of the art, fit for purpose facility will enhance the experience for everyone.
Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role
Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant and hold an NZQA level 3 qualification or above? Are you someone with a passion for child health and wanting a rewarding career in paediatrics? We are seeking a permanent Health Care Assistant to join our team in the inpatient Child Health Service. This is a full-time position, working morning shifts, Monday-Friday. The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the health care team, mostly supporting the Eating Disorder programme by performing delegated patient tasks e.g. meal support, POE. At times you may be asked to support other service activities - general restocking, equipment cleaning and maintenance or hospitality duties.
Moū About you
- Minimum qualification NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (level 3) or above
- At least 12 months HCA hospital or mental health support worker experience
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment that values teamwork
