Due to a secondment to work on our Oracle system upgrade project we have a fixed-term role available working full-time until Jan 2023. We are seeking an experienced management accountant to hit the ground running working predominately with two key portfolios of 3DHB ICT and 2DHB Procurement & Supply Chain.
We are seeking a qualified accountant to prepare, develop and analyse financial and output performance so that management can make well-informed decisions. The management accountant will not only be responsible for building budgets and meeting month end deadlines, but be proactive, have good communication skills and be willing to assist their clients in making good business decisions.
Some of your duties will include:
- Month-end processing and reporting to managers of their financial results
- Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Understanding the key drivers that effect their results
- Work alongside and build key relationships across teams to connect information, drive efficiencies and problem solve alongside the team

We are a team of five based out of Wellington Hospital, We look after two key directorates: FFABS (Finance, Facilities and Business Services) and the Executive Office.
Our team provides the financial oversight & key business partner of all Corporate & supporting functions across the wider DHB including Wellington Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, Kapiti Health Centre, and public healthcare across the wider Wellington region.
Our team links in closely with the other management accounting teams at CCDHB (4 other teams) and also our key counterparts at HVDHB and WaiDHB for our joint departments.
The Finance Directorate as a whole comprises a number of teams accountable for the processes and systems for effective financial management and reporting for the organisation as well as all regulatory reporting, treasury and taxation requirements. There needs to be a close link between Finance and all other Directorates comprising the Provider Arm (HHS), the Funder Arm (P&F) and the other Corporate Divisions of CCDHB to provide financial leadership and direction and establish financial policies and procedures that support best practice. The teams within the Finance Directorate are the Central Accounting Team, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Management Accountants operating in Directorates.

The successful person, reporting to the Business Services Manager, will be a real time trusted advisor who will support and partner with the budget holders in adding value to the decision making process by offering insight and analysis.
Skills and experience:
- CA qualified or equivalent
- Experience dealing with the complexities of a large diverse organisation
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including non-finance members of staff
