Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
Senior Nurse: Specialty Nurse - Care Coordination of Patients with Challenging Behaviours
- Fixed Term and Permanent part time roles available
- Working across both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals
Robust management of patients with challenging behaviours is necessary to ensure both patient and staff safety. At Waitemata DHB we recognise the increased clinical risk associated with this cohort of patients and are committed to ensuring the best care and most effective management of this patient group.
Senior Registered Nurses are required to coordinate the care of patients requiring a higher level of observation. You will be an experienced nurse with at least 5 years’ experience in general medicine, gerontology or older adult mental health nursing with a passion for providing excellent individualised patient care.
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director, Inpatients, you will work predominantly morning shifts covering a 7day a week roster reviewing all patients in the Assessment Unit, Medical and AT&R wards at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals. You will collate the requests for constant observation and develop individualised nursing care plans to support both ward staff and a group of experienced and specially trained HCA's in providing care for these patients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with excellent nursing assessment skills and a passion for the elderly to develop further leadership skills and step up into a senior nurse position.
