A great opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a leadership role in Housing modifications and Community practice
About the role
Te Herenga Tangata is our Community Older Persons, Rehabilitation and Allied health team.
With over 30 team members, we work with a broad range of populations who have very diverse needs. We have 9 Occupational Therapists along with a Community Rotational position.
Our Advanced Practitioner in Housing Modifications will provide leadership and mentoring to develop the skills of therapists within the DHB. We are looking for someone who enjoys community based practice, working in an IDT team and who will support our endeavours to move to more pro-equity focussed systems.
We need someone willing to help us develop our models of practice, who has energy, a sense of humour and a commitment to supporting other team members.
Along with advanced expertise in Housing Modifications, you will ideally have significant experience in Wheelchair and Seating/Postural management and be happy to work together with colleagues to offer advice and encouragement to less experienced staff on the broader aspects of Community based Occupational therapy.
You ll need advanced clinical skills and also great communication, and inter personal skills. You will find professional support from your Occupational Therapy colleagues within the team and Professional Leader for Occupational Therapy.
