As a Senior Commissioning Manager for Older People in our Primary & Complex Care team you will be instrumental in commissioning services that improve wellbeing for older people including initiatives to meet the needs of people with frailty.
If you are passionate about supporting older people to maintain independence with excellent care and support options this is an exciting opportunity to make positive change. You ll work closely with your wider team responsible for older people and complex care to deliver better outcomes for people and the health system. This is a 2DHB permanent full time position working across collaboratively with colleagues on both campuses. Your home base will be the Hutt Valley DHB with movement across both sites.

You will join a motivated team that is forward looking and results focused. You will partner with our providers and stakeholders to optimise care, championing health system performance, innovation and new models of care across the two DHBs. You will develop and maintain strategic relationships and networks to ensure the DHBs strategy and plans are informed by population needs and that stakeholders are engaged in service planning and provision.

To be successful in this role you will be adaptable and with a strong drive for results. You will demonstrate exceptional collaboration skills, be a proactive self-starter with the get-up-and-go to pick up a work programme and run with it. You will be comfortable working in the community and managing relationships with providers.
To be successful in this role you will offer:
- Strong relationship management and networking skills
- Ability to manage work priorities to ensure successful delivery of strategic priorities
- Prior experience in a role requiring negotiating and influencing skills
- Knowledge of health services key stakeholders
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of successfully presenting to or facilitating for small and large groups
- Service commissioning experience
- A commitment to Enabling Good Lives
An understanding of the aged care sector would be advantageous in this role.
