  • We are seeking rural, community minded doctors to be part of TDHB’s vision in building an integrated primary and secondary health service in Hawera .

This is an exciting new opportunity not to be missed!  We are looking for Urgent Care specialists to work in this new, modern primary care service, who are preferably Fellows of the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care (FRNZCUC). 

 

We need flexible open minded and progressive doctors to join our existing small, competent and supportive team in a level 3 rural hospital providing 24/7 medical cover.  To achieve this, we need practitioners who can use their varied and broad generalist knowledge and experience to diagnose and treat your patient in either a primary care and/or secondary care high acuity area setting with opportunities to follow your patients admitted to the inpatient ward. 

 
You will:
  • Be part of an experienced team of medical professionals and working with RHM trainees;

  • Have links to secondary and tertiary services;

  • Be supported by a progressive, friendly organisation;

  • Have the opportunity to create a primary care service designed to meet the communities needs

  • Serve a population in need and design systems with a focus on health equity

  • Contribute to teaching medical students with opportunities to have honorary lecturer privileges

The South Taranaki Rural Health Hub is aiming to provide an integrated primary, secondary and community service for the community.  It is an exciting opportunity to be part of the establishment of a model designed to meet the needs of a community that is engaged and enthusiastic about improving services.  The role will involve primarily working within a newly established walk-in clinic however there is scope to expand this for experienced clinicians.

 

The Hospital has a well-equipped radiology and laboratory service.  In addition, the emergency department has a Sonosite X-Porte ultrasound machine available for clinician-performed ultrasounds.
