Principal Information Advisor
Do you enjoy leading and promoting a strong information management culture in an organisation?
Manatū Kaupapa Waonga, the Ministry of Defence, is looking for an experienced Principal Information Advisor to develop and champion best practice information management behaviours across our organisation.
You will be the Ministry's sole expert in information management and will be responsible for developing and promoting information management policies, strategy and procedures.
You will work in collaboration with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) which operates the IT platform the Ministry works on and with which the Ministry shares its document management system.
You will enjoy proactive engagement and building relationships with staff and key stakeholders.
You'll be a persuader and influencer, providing advice and guidance to managers and staff, and developing tools and approaches which support effective information management practices.
Skills and experience required:
To be successful in this role you will have proven ability to work independently, and have experience in leading the development of information management capability .
You will also have:
- great interpersonal skills and proven ability developing sustainable working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- a highly collaborative and a facilitative working style
- an ability to accurately and clearly convey information in a way that is meaningful to a wide range of audiences
- proven ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to deliver excellent results
- knowledge of SharePoint's capabilities and experience working with document management systems
- comprehensive knowledge of requirements under the Public Records Act
