We have a vacancy for an experienced, dictaphone typist/secretary to fill a medical secretary role in the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery Service. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday based at Middlemore Hospital.
The successful applicant will be one of a team of five secretaries. They provide secretarial support for their team of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgeons, as well as transcribing dictation for the whole service. Transcription makes up approximately 80% of the role.
If you have previous medical experience and want to broaden your knowledge to include the specialty of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery then this is a great opportunity. We will consider applicants who do not have a medical background, but have proven fast, accurate dictaphone typing skills which are essential as it is very a busy, fast paced environment.
We offer an excellent training programme to ensure staffs are able to work independently in a short time frame, and ongoing support is provided for all new employees.
- Dictaphone typing experience
- Minimum typing speed of 55wpm
- Intermediate level of MS Office Word & Outlook
- Hospital based medical transcription or secretarial experience
The salary for this role is between $55,267 to $61,346 dependent on skills and experience.
