Mō te tūnga | About the role
As an Administrator, you will interact with a range of staff as well as the general public and external health professionals to help us to achieve the best outcomes for our tūroro (patients) and whānau.
As an experienced administrator you will know what it takes to provide excellent customer service to our patients as well as administration support to the team. This is a varied role so your ability to organise and prioritise your workload, coupled with your desire to help those around you and build strong relationships will quickly see you succeed in this position.
We are currently seeking a full time (40 hours a week) administrator, to join the team in Ashburton as well as a few casual administrators. Please clearly indicate your preference on your CV or cover letter.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing administrative and secretarial duties
- Co-ordinating and managing tūroro (patient) bookings
- Ad hoc admin duties

Your skills will include:
- Organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and telephone manner
- Well-developed computer skills including knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines
- Excellent relationship building skills with tūroro (patients) and colleagues, coupled with the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
- Personable, patient-focused approach to your work
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience using a Patient Management System would be an advantage, however full training will be provided by our supportive administrative team
Ideally, you will have experience in similar roles, including reception, administration, and customer service. You will be competent with Microsoft Office applications, have solid typing and data entry skills, and be quick to pick up new systems. Your empathetic nature coupled with your desire to help those around you will quickly see you succeed in this environment.
