A fantastic opportunity is available for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our friendly and supportive clerical administration team based at Middlemore Hospital.
The primary function of this role is to manage incoming referrals, and coordinate the booking of inpatient and outpatient appointments for patients’ within the Counties Manukau region, as well as providing administrative support within our Medicine Services. You will be communicating with DHB staff, patients/clients and their whanau by telephone to negotiate/confirm appointments and in writing to advise of dates and times.
It is essential that you are reliable, and can work efficiently and effectively with a culturally diverse team. You must have good communication skills both verbal and written, and promote a professional image whilst providing excellent customer service.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility around the start time being no earlier than 07:30am and no later than 09:00am (relative to the assignment).
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office suite
- Minimum 3 years’ administration experience in an healthcare environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer service focussed role
- Previous referral management and appointment booking experience in a healthcare or other business environment
The salary band for this role is $47,208 to $57,661 pro-rata, dependent on skills and experience.
