The Risk Manager 2DHB is a member of the 2DHB Centre of Clinical Excellence Leadership Team (LT) and acts as part of a leadership collective which has prime responsibility for supporting the Executive Director Clinical Excellence 2DHB and Group Manager Clinical Excellence 2DHB, and of providing leadership in innovation, improvement and research and partner with patients/whanau/community and staff to support culture change to one where quality and safety is everyone s responsibility. In addition, each LT position has individual accountability for leading a range of functions to deliver agreed outcomes.
The Risk Manager 2DHB (including MHAIDS) is accountable for leading, managing and overseeing the risk management functions of the Centre of Clinical Excellence 2DHB. This key leadership role is responsible for coaching, developing and leading their team to ensure the successful delivery of these functions.
The Risk Manager 2DHB reports to the Executive Director, Clinical Excellence 2DHB and works collaboratively with the Improvement & Innovation Manager 2DHB, Consumer Engagement Manager 2DHB, and Quality & Patient Safety Manager 2DHB as well as the professional clinical leads for the Centre of Clinical Excellence, to ensure all aspects of risk are monitored, evaluated, analysed and reported on.

Moū About you
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of risk assessment and risk management
- Risk management / governance qualification or equivalent experience would be desirable
- Other relevant memberships such as RiskNZ
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard, health and safety legislation, and health and disability services standards
- Experience in providing training, team facilitation and coaching
- Experience of designing training programmes would be desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, good oral/written communication skills and presentation skills
- Evidence of successfully using project/improvement methodologies to lead improvement work.
- Experience in health sector would be an advantage although not essential.
