Contract: Permanent, Part-time (35 hours per week)
Salary: $53,335 - $80,292 pro rata
Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role
This is a part time, permanent position working on the surgical wards at Wellington Hospital with patients aged 16 years and above. The successful applicant will complete psycho social assessments with patients and their whānau during their inpatient admission. The role holder will work in partnership with their multi-disciplinary colleagues as well as the nursing and surgical colleagues to facilitate supportive and safe discharges from hospital.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work with patients and their whānau with a range of psychosocial issues, such as adjustment to changes in health and functioning, experiencing grief and loss or when there are concerns of family violence.
Mō tō mātou rōpū About our team
We are a team of 22 social workers who provide a service to patients and their whānau across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We complete psycho social assessments across the age range and provide holistic social work interventions. Come and join our friendly experienced team in a supportive workplace environment. We provide a Saturday service across all inpatient services and you may need to work this on a roster basis.
Moū About you
You will be a NZ Registered Social Worker with a current practicing certificate with a 3 year degree. Applications from new graduates would be welcome. The post holder will require excellent communication, documentation and time management skills.
