Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
The Healthy Homes Guarantee Act was passed in December 2017 to enable standards to be set to make rental homes warmer and drier. These standards cover heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture ingress and drainage and draught-stopping. The standards came into force on 1 July 2019 and Kāinga Ora and Community Housing Providers must comply with the Healthy Homes Standards by 1 July 2023. We will also be exceeding the standards in relation to ensuring a home can achieve World Health Organisation Guidelines for indoor air temperature, meaning a whole of house heating solution that will achieve 18 degrees or more.
We are seeking an experienced Facilitator to engage with our customers on a personal level, building an understanding of how we can carry out these upgrades whilst causing as little disruption as possible. You'll also help our customers to understand the benefits to them of this work, bringing them with you on the journey.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Understanding how to engage with others in a genuine and meaningful way is key, so a background in social work, health or education would be ideal
- Naturally, you'll have a customer-centric approach, coupled with the interpersonal skills necessary to build rapport and communicate clearly with others
- An understanding of social housing and its accompanying complexities, as well as of maintenance contracts would be advantageous
- You'll be adept at negotiating and influencing others, getting their buy-in and navigating obstacles along the way.
