BreastScreen Midland (BSM) is looking for an enthusiastic Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) Mammographer to support mammography services to its mobile schedule and Waikato Breast Care Centre
About the role:
We are seeking senior Mammographers or MIT's with an interest in expanding into mammography, to help us to continuing in delivering high quality services within BreastScreen Midland.
BreastScreen Midland has two mobile units that travel to over 30 sites a year to Waikato, Lakes and Bay of Plenty DHBs’ rural communities, delivering the national BreastScreen Aotearoa Programme. The role will therefore require you to stay away, with other team members, when we visit some of our communities, such as Coromandel Town and Whitianga. This provides a great opportunity to see and experience more of our wonderful region.
The role will also be an integral member of the Waikato DHB Breast Care Centre team. The Breast Care Centre at Waikato Hospital runs a busy and varied screening, assessment and diagnostic service for the Waikato population. Also you will have the opportunity to work with the cervical screening team when they run a dual screening clinic on a Saturday morning twice a month.
Required skills & experience:
• Full registration with the New Zealand Medical Imaging Technologist Board with a general scope of practice and a current practising certificate
• Be committed to providing an equitable service
• Mammography experience or an interest in becoming a Mammographer
• Good communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills
• Flexible, can-do attitude
• Full NZ driver’s license (desirable)
• Ability to work away from home
