Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Practice Supervisor within the Adult Community Services Allied Health team. This is a permanent, full-time position which combines professional and people leadership, service development and quality improvements, with clinical practice. 

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership to the OT team
  • Demonstrate effective clinical reasoning and model senior level evidence-informed practice
  • Provide adult teaching and apply knowledge of appropriate educating skills
  • Undertake a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence based care
  • You will have the collegial support of the other Allied Health Practice Supervisors in Adult Community Services, and support from your Team Leader and Allied Health Clinical and Quality Lead

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand registration as an Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • 7+ years of clinical experience, additionally mentoring and coaching experience desirable
  • Appropriate supervision training or progress towards completion
  • EMS accredited equipment assessor desirable
  • Clean, full New Zealand drivers licence
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • A flexible, pro-active approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical MECA 2018-2020)
