Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This is an opportunity to make a difference within the MRI department in Radiology within Wellington hospital as an integral member of the MRI team. The Radiographic assistant role is hugely varied and works closely with the MRI Medical imaging technologists, Radiologists, Students and our administrative staff. Main duties involve working with MRI MITS to assist patients, help prepare the rooms for different procedures, perform patient bookings and maintain stock. Basic computer skills are essential as you will be placing orders when required and managing patient information and data.
- Assist the MRI Team Leader and MRI MIT-s with patient preparation.
- Contacting patients by phone to confirm appointments and ensure patient safety
- Provide a welcoming environment for patients on arrival to MRI
- Helps manage workflow and bookings across the MRI dept
- Assistance in any other modalities as requested
- Necessary supplies are appropriately ordered and stocked
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and tidied, any spills or waste appropriately cleaned up
Moū - About you
We are looking for candidates with an interest in patient care and strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will need basic patient care skills, a common sense approach to problem solving and an ability to work independently and in a small team.
Please note - this role requires that you be medically fit to work in and around strong magnetic fields. All candidates will need to be screened to ensure that it is safe for them to work in this environment and their suitability for this role.
