Right now, we are able to provide an exciting opportunity to create -a ward without walls- by being involved in the setting up and
implementation of acute demand function within the District Nursing

of experience behind them to become part of an interdisciplinary community team
here in South Canterbury. You-ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role where
there is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!
You cannot get any more front line than caring for
people in their own home environment. There, the rehabilitation and recovery
clinical care that you provide as a health professional is going to make a real
difference to an individual-s health status.
This role will contribute to integrating and supporting primary care,
and secondary services to allow people the option of an alternative to hospital
admission.
You work a variety of rostered shifts, depending on scope of practice with an opportunity to work additional shifts to meet service needs covering peer leave. You will work closely with Allied Health Teams, NASC, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Palliative Care Nurses and Primary Care providers within the area and forms an integral part of the South Canterbury DHB District Nursing team as a whole. Support will be provided to maintain professional competencies in accordance with Nursing Council requirements.
A current Practicing Certificate and full driver-s license are essential.
Why choose South Canterbury DHB?
As one of the country-s smaller DHBs our people always have room to move and grow - you-ll get a wider exposure to specialties and enjoy the benefits of a flat structure: processes that run smoothly and a fun, friendly culture. With us, you-re more than just a number; you-re part of a team where everyone knows your name. You-ll be supported to thrive through our many professional development opportunities and have the chance to share your expertise as part of our graduate mentoring programme.
On top of all that, you-ll get to enjoy the fantastic Timaru lifestyle: between the beach and the mountains, work-life balance is truly achievable here.
At SCDHB, integrity, collaboration, accountability,
respect and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We are a proudly
diverse team, as we know a diverse and inclusive workforce achieves the best
