Clinical Psychologist - Mental Health Services for Older People at Auckland District Health Board (Central Auckland), Auckland

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

  • Full time, permanent positions located in Greenlane Clinical Centre, Auckland. Part time hours of minimum 0.6 FTE would also be considered for the right candidate
  • Monday to Friday

Mental HealthServices for Older People (MHSOP) is a community based service, based on the Greenlane site. We provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults aged 65 years and over who are experiencing mental illness and/or cognitive change. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to optimise the function and wellness of older adults with the aim of supporting them to continue to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

MHSOP community team provides a range of assessment and recovery focused treatment options for older adults experiencing serious mental health issues and psychiatric complications of neurodegenerative disorders. We also provide a range of high quality therapeutic interventions with a strong multi-disciplinary focus.

The purpose of this role is to provide psychological assessment, treatment and management of complex health needs in collaboration with service users and their families/whānau

 Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • A postgraduate qualification in Psychology
  • To be registered with the NZ Psychologists Board with a current Practising Certificate or be eligible for registration
  • Full and clean drivers license as this is a community based role
