An exciting position for a Social Worker - Senior Clinician has become available with Ngaa Raukohekohe, a specialist mental health service for adults living in the Franklin Area. Our integrated locality based team provide specialist mental health care for those with serious mental health problems and provide consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns.

 

This designated role is responsible for providing a high standard of comprehensive Social Work services to individuals, their families / whaanau. This position requires the use of developed clinical expertise and competencies to deliver and support professional services within mental health and addiction services. This includes managing cases with higher clinical complexity and leading quality improvement and research activities.

 

The successful candidate must be able to provide this service in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner, in accordance with designated Social Work standards of practice, organisational policy, National Mental Health Standards and underpinned by the principles in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The ability to provide culturally appropriate specialised assessment and intervention for Maaori is a prerequisite.

 

We are seeking a Social Worker with a current annual practicing certificate and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a social worker in mental health and addiction services. A thorough knowledge of Counties Manukau community resources and networks is essential. Experience with leading and supporting quality improvement and Clinical teaching and coaching would be advantageous.

 

This is a part time 0.4FTE role, ideally working Mondays and Tuesdays however this can be discussed during interview stage.

Essential:

  • SWRB registration
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • At least five years’ experience as a Mental Health Social Worker
  • Full clean driver’s license
