Health Care Assistant - Emergency Department at Hutt Valley District Health Board (Wellington), Lower Hutt

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Location: Hutt Valley Hospital

Service:   Emergency Department

Contract: Multiple FTE - Rostered & Rotating ( including weekends)

Salary:     $40,382 to $48,003 pro rata depending on experience

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

ED manages people in emergency situations where they are vulnerable and highly stressed as a HCA you are pivotal in providing a supportive and caring approach to dealing with people with emergencies, patient care and supporting the nursing and medical teams is an essential part of the role. 

ED is a friendly and welcoming place to work ,where people are accepted for their skills, knowledge and personal experiences. We are a small team so commitment to the role is important. 

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Health Care Assitants (HCA) play a pivotal role in keeping our Emergency Department running smoothly and efficiently, as part of our Emergency Department whaanau, you will be supported and work alongside staff to assist with delegated patient care, cleaning and undertake housekeeping and clerical functions.

The role is vital in the flow and high volume of patients which come through ED and using your initiative to support the department is key. 

Moū - About you

  • Have Level 3 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or be prepared to complete
  • Good customer service skills
