Full –time (0.8 FTE will be considered) rostered shifts over 7 days

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Lakes DHB for an experienced & passionate Registered Nurse with acute inpatient  mental health experience to become part of Whare Whakaue based at Rotorua Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity as we continue to embed our new model of care Te Ara Tauwhirotanga: pathways that lead us to act with kindness.  Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes DHB community.  Te Ara Tauwhirotanga model of care acknowledges that health, wellbeing and opportunities for healing and recovery are a basic human right and that this can only occur when local, regional and national systems work well together.   The model aligns to He Ara Oranga and is designed around three central Pou (pillars) of Tikanga (Values), Tangata (People) and Taiao (Environment).

Mō te tūranga / About the role

As a Clinical Nurse Shift Leader you will:
-    be an experienced mental health nurse with ability to co-ordinate and lead a team.  
-    have ability to allocate and co-ordinate work loads and resources on a shift by shift basis, while taking into account what may need to be required on subsequent shifts.  
-    have the ability to provide direction and leadership in managing acute situations and will be seen as a knowledge resource to others.    
-    have excellent interpersonal skills, strong client focus, cultural competence, flexible approach and ability to remain calm under pressure. 
-    be expected to hold a portfolio in the Unit ie: infection control, health & safety and will work closely with our Clinical Nurse Specialist ensuring that best practice and care is maintained.
-    
You must be a New Zealand Registered Nurse eligible to work in Mental Health and have a current APC with a minimum of 4 years post graduate experience with minimum 3 of those years in an acute inpatient mental health setting.
