Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
These roles will sit across the Intellectual Disability inpatient teams. The Clinical coordinator is responsible for the day to day active management of staff and resource to ensure effective, evidence base care and rehabilitation is delivered to our client population. The coordinator will be responsible for role modelling our service values and ensuring that staff feel supported throughout their shifts.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Intellectual Disability (ID) Forensic Services is part of the 3 DHB Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service Directorate. It has adult, youth and community services. The ID Services are made up of: Haumietiketike which is a regional intellectual disability secure forensic unit which has 11 beds. The Cottages has a total of eight beds and are located next to Haumietiketike which is on the Ratonga-Rua-o-Porirua campus in Porirua. In addition the ID Inpatient services includes Hikitia Te Wairua which is the national intellectual disability secure forensic youth unit which has 6 beds. Hikitia Te Wairua is co-located with the Youth Acute Inpatient Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Rangatahi) and the National Secure Youth Forensic Unit in the Centre of Excellence at Kenepuru Hospital. There is also a new service attached to the adult services which is six individualised units catering for people with high support needs that need further rehabilitation to reintegrate into the community.

- Works to ensure the service delivers an effective and efficient service that facilitates clinical excellence and health outcomes.
- Lead by example by delivering effective rostering, use of resource and leave management of staff
- Role Model our service mission and core values
- Actively coordinates staff to attend clinical and service meetings
- Can work cooperatively and actively and can contribute to all staff in varied situations where required
- Registered Nurse with Mental Health and /or Intellectual Disability scope of practice
- Annual Practicing Certificate
