Ngā mōhiohio e pā hānga ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
We
have a permanent part-time position available, working 48 hours a fortnight (0.6FTE),
based in Nelson.
We are looking for an experienced occupational therapist who is passionate about working with children and being part of multi-disciplinary team. You will see children with neuro-developmental disorders, sensory issues, coordination and functional difficulties and much, much more. You will work collaboratively with other services such as Ministry of Education, Needs Assessment Services, Ti Piki Oranga, Plunket, Explore, Child and Adolescent Mental Health to name a few. The role will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.
The Child Development Service (CDS) team has a strong commitment to child protection and is dedicated to helping children achieve optimum function and wellbeing. We provide multi-disciplinary therapy for children with disabilities referred to the service, in partnership with their families/caregivers; this role spans community, primary, inpatient and outpatient settings.
It is highly desirable that you have post registration clinical experience in paediatrics.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be a NZ registered occupational
therapist with a current APC and will have Enable Assessor accreditation.
Experience in equipment, housing modifications and wheelchairs would be beneficial. A passion for working along tamariki and
their whanau and supporting them with their goals. You will also have excellent
communication and rapport building skills and will share our passion for delivering
an excellent service, whilst being a dedicated team player. You will be committed to
adhering to best practice and extending your own professional development.
For the health and safety of staff and patients all NMH staff are
required to be vaccinated in accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health
Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
