Clinical Nurse Specialist - Respiratory at Nelson Marlborough Health (Nelson/Blenheim), Richmond - Health Hub

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Registered Nurse with extensive clinical expertise in the care of people with respiratory conditions, or a special interest in respiratory, to join our District Nursing Service on a permanent part-time basis. 

This role provides clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and effective services to individual clients. The role has a key focus on supporting adults relying on BiPAP, with cystic fibrosis or with other chronic respiratory conditions and their whānau. The role includes the teaching of health professionals and facilitation of both formal and informal learning opportunities.

We are looking for a person with extensive clinical experience, preferably at a senior nurse level. They will have participated in service and care planning within multidisciplinary teams of professionals, focused on effective delivery of respiratory care.

Additional key requirements for this position include:

  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Nursing (or working towards)
  • Clinical expertise directly related to respiratory care and education for people with respiratory and/or other associated long term conditions
  • Evidence of attainment of Senior Nurse Level PDRP (or working towards)
  • Current registration and annual practising certificate
  • Leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills - integral to continuity of service delivery
  • Ability to work autonomously in a range of community settings including people-s homes
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to make clinical decisions independently and in collaboration
  • Good time management and the ability to manage work in a planned and coordinated manner.

As a key clinical leadership position within the nursing service at NMH, the CNS role will provide the next step in advanced nursing practice. You will enjoy working in partnership with patients, whānau and multidisciplinary practitioners - providing key evidence based nursing knowledge, practice and leadership to achieve optimum outcomes for people in our community with diabetes related health needs.
