Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team on Ward 7 South. HCA-s play an important part in patient cares. As the successful applicant you-ll have the ability to communicate effectively and prioritise tasks appropriately under the delegation of a Registered Nurse.
You-ll assist the nursing staff and patients with activities of daily living. You will be tasked with the restocking of clinical supplies and maintaining a clean environment. You will also undertake patient observation and engagement. If you-re an energetic and motivated person with good communication skills and have NZQA Level 3 in Health and wellbeing (or equivalent), we want to hear from you.

Ward 7 South provides assessment, diagnosis, and specialised treatments for patients who present acutely with neurological deterioration. Ward 7 South covers 3 specialties.
- Neurosurgery - Trauma, Aneurysm, Tumours
- Acute Stroke - Thrombectomy, Thrombolysis
- Neurology - Seizures, Parkinson, Guillain Barre syndrome
Moū - About you
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living to maintain independence
- Restocking of clinical supplies
- Maintaining a clean ward environment.
- Patient observation and engagement.
Skills & Experience
- Level 3 NZQA National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or Equivalent qualification)
- Current NZ working Visa/residency or a NZ Citizen.
- Health Care work experience.
- Effective time management skills.
