Community Mental Health Nurse at Capital & Coast District Health Board (Wellington), Wellington Community

Service:     Wellington South Community Mental Health Team

Contract:   Full time, permanent

Salary:       as per MECA

Due to the progression into senior roles of other staff, we have 2 exciting opportunities to join our team.

These are full time positions but we would be happy to consider part time.

Duties

  • Mental health assessment and planning (including risk assessment)
  • Care management of a diverse caseload
  • Participate in the MDT
  • Participate in ongoing service improvement. 

Skills & Experience

  • Able to work autonomously as well as contribute to the MDT 
  • Creative, innovative thinking and problem solving
  • Application of best practice models of care
  • A willingness to learn and develop your practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and skilled in developing relationships with a variety of other professionals
  • Registered with the relevant board in New Zealand

You will have a minimum of 2 years- experience providing comprehensive assessments and risk management plans, formulating and articulating treatment needs and plans, and be able to coordinate and prioritise treatment needs

We are looking for an experienced mental health nurse who has a passion for working with adults with complex mental health needs. You must be able to work autonomously as well as contribute to the multi-disciplinary team. Along with a good sense of humour and flexibility, you will require excellent communication and organisational skills as they are an essential part of the day to day work.
