The Duty Nurse Manager team is responsible for the after-hours coordination of the Wairau Hospital site at an operational level with delegated authority of the General Manager. The role works in close collaboration with Duty Nurse Manager colleagues across the district at the Nelson Hospital site to maintain patient, staff and site safety.
The role has an emphasis on leadership of staff, patient safety and management of resources requiring you to be flexible and adaptable to meet changing service needs.
This is a casual position, assisting with peak capacity and covering leave, working across AM, PM and night shifts as required.

You will be an enthusiastic and visionary Senior Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. You will have a minimum of five years recent post registration experience and with Proficient/Expert on PDRP, or working towards Proficient/Expert.
For the health and safety of staff and patients all NMH staff are required to be vaccinated in accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, including boosters.
