About the role:

 

We are seeking a high performing Principal Advisor to join our team and use their experience and knowledge to deliver high quality specialist, strategic and operational advice to support the strategic direction and day to day running of the business, and ensure the quality and consistency of service provision and practices across INZ. This requires thinking across a range of issues, identifying current and future risks and opportunities and working in close collaboration across the business to ensure outcomes are achieved.


You will be a self-starter, with the proven ability to influence, lead and facilitate others to achieve outcomes.  You will work closely with and provide support to the leadership team, leading activities such as operational planning, reporting, and developing specialist papers for presentation at Executive and Ministerial level.

Skills and experience required:

 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, engage and create connections with diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • A strategic outlook with the intellectual capability to analyse large, complex issues and readily grasp and synthesise ideas, analysis and advice.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.  
  • Ability to be flexible and to quickly adapt to the needs of a business’s changing demands.
  • Strong systems thinking skills, able to quickly develop an understanding of context in relation to the insights required and pain points of a business area.
  • An ability to influence, lead and facilitate others to achieve outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of processes at the centre of government as well as wider governmental processes and protocols.
  • Must be a NZ citizen or hold a residence class visa
  • Ability to gain and maintain a security clearance
