Test Manager at Accident Compensation Corporation, Wellington

As the Test Manager, you will be taking a lead role in maintaining and driving the maturity of the overall testing capability including, but not limited to,

  • Test automation
  • Performance testing
  • Policies & procedures
  • Test tooling
  • Methodologies

The role is responsible for managing multiple large streams of work to the required quality standards. This includes managing the overall test activities and workload of other test professionals as required. The Test Manager provides significant support and thought leadership to ensure that the Manager Enterprise Testing Capability can deliver on their accountabilities.

To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of and practical experience in testing techniques, coupled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the full test life cycle, particularly as it fits with the overall solution development life cycle methods, tools, controls and techniques. You will have a strong customer focus and solid interpersonal skills, with proven experience in mentoring and coaching others to fulfil their potential. You can drive innovation and adopt new ways of working.

In addition to this, you will bring:

  • Experience working in large programmes of work as a Test Manager and a record of delivery
  • A good understanding of and practical experience in testing techniques
  • The ability to make decisions at the appropriate time, considering the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information
  • The ability to produce well-structured and easily understood documentation and make persuasive presentations that can be understood by stakeholders.
  • Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to confidently work through risks, issues or conflicts raised.
