Neurophysiology Technologist at Auckland District Health Board (Central Auckland), Auckland

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Trainee Neurophysiology Technologist/Senior Neurophysiology Technologist within our Neurophysiology department based at Auckland City Hospital. You will be part of a regional service serving a population of about 1.4 million and a national service for assessment of complex epilepsy. You will have the opportunity work across services including:

  • Electro-encephalography
  • Electromyography
  • Evoked potential studies
  • Intra-operative monitoring (functional mapping and electrocorticography)
  •  Long Term Video-EEG monitoring 

In addition to this, the department runs a national surgical and diagnostic Long-Term Video-EEG monitoring.

As an ideal candidate you will:

  • Have tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline or an equivalent international qualification
  • Have registration/be eligible for registration with CRPB (Clinical Physiologists Registration Board)
  • Be competent recording EEGs and Evoked potential in adults, children and neonates

Senior Neurophysiology Technologist:

  • Relevant post graduate experience (at least 5 years is desirable)
  • Experience performing complex neurophysiology investigations in ICU/theatre

Trainee Neurophysiology Technologist:

  • Previous experience in a health-related field is desirable
  • Have a desire to perform routine neurophysiological investigations with supervision within the inpatient and outpatient setting
