Maternal Health Coordinator/Kairuruku at Hutt Valley District Health Board (Wellington), Lower Hutt

Location: Hutt Valley Hospital

Service:  Maternity

Contract:  Fixed term, part time (2 years, 32 hours per week)

Salary: Surgical, Women-s and Children-s Health

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to help build strong relationships in the community maternity setting, building great resources and systems for hapu mama and new families in the Hutt Valley. 

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

Our multi-disciplinary maternity team work alongside the pregnant people of the Hutt Valley Region as they transition through pregnancy into parenthood. We work as a team to support the successful breastfeeding journey of the new family, recognizing that everyone has specialized knowledge and areas of expertise. We embrace all diversity that makes up our community and aim to provide the best breastfeeding outcomes.

Moū - About you

You do not need to be a health professional but a passion for the maternity and neonatal space would be an asset. 

  • You need a great personality to connect to a broad range of people and providers
  • It would be great to have an a strong commitment to the promotion and support of the breastfeeding whanau, especially in the bi-cultural and multicultural environment.
  • Having experience with project management or consulting would be beneficial.
  • Great computer literacy especially around website maintenance and health promotion is essential
