We are recruiting a permanent Principal Advisor Marine Operations to join Maritime New Zealand's Maritime Systems Assurance team, based in Wellington.

About the team:
Maritime Systems Assurance (MSA) provides high quality technical advice and assurance to internal and external stakeholders regarding international, domestic, maritime, environmental, port and harbour sector issues.  MSA also provides oversight of sector participants, strategic liaison with sector groups, and assurance to the Director of Maritime NZ that maritime and environmental regulatory and compliance systems are effective. 

About the role:
The Principal Advisor Marine Operations provides advice and assistance across the group and Maritime New Zealand.  This includes leading the provision of advice and decision-making, building capability in areas of work and supporting the development of systems and processes to enhance decision-making.

We need someone who has knowledge of the New Zealand maritime industry, and experience identifying and driving forward projects of work, in collaboration with other experts to improve safety, security, environmental regulatory systems.

The successful candidate will need to have a current and clean Driver Licence and be available to travel within NZ at short notice.
