Operations Team Leader - Sterile Services at Canterbury District Health Board (Christchurch), Christchurch

The Team: What we do

Our Sterile Services Department at the brand new Waipapa Hospital are an integral part of ensuring quality service provision to our community. To ensure that we continue to offer the best patient care our key team keeps things running smoothly from behind the scenes. We provide a service to decontaminate, pack and sterilise instruments for the operating theatres and many other departments. 

We-re currently looking for a Operations Team Leader to join us on a permanent full-time basis (40 hours pw/1 FTE). Hours will be negotiated at interview.

The Role: Where you fit in

As the Operations Team Leader you-ll be responsible for ensuring a quality and operational Sterile service to our customers within the DHB on a day-to-day basis, effectively supporting the department Clinical Manager while being hands-on within the department. Also, to provide Customer Service to our wide-ranging hospital customer base.

In this role, you will have the proven capabilities:

  • Drives for superior personal and professional performance.
  • Previous leadership experience preffered.
  • Design and review cross functional change initiatives in conjunction with the Sterile Services team.
  • 3+ years Sterile Services department experience.
  • An expert knowledge of AS/NZS4187:2014.
  • Ability to communicate with key stakeholders towards an agreed goal.
  • Ability to support department Clinical manager in mentoring and coaching a team of 50+ Sterile Sciences professionals.
