Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki ēnei mahi (About these positions)

We are looking for two extraordinary administration assistants to proactively support and work alongside our Personal Assistants. You will engage daily with our people at every level of the organisation. The positions available are: 

Position 1: Nelson Hospital - 10 hours per week

Position 2: Wairau Hospital, Blenheim - 4 hours per week

We are looking for an energetic self-starter who is confident, pays close attention to detail, has a sense of humour and the passion to make a real difference to enable our communities to live well, stay well and get well. You will bring several years of experience in a similar role ideally within the health sector, or other complex environment.

Your communication skills will be second to none, so too your commitment to providing excellent customer service. You will display confidence in prioritising not only your own workflow and managing your deadlines but in managing the workflow and deadlines for Senior Executives. You will be working as part of a high performing team and will consistently display confidentiality and discretion.

Key requirements for this position include:

  • An experienced and positive outlook with a real desire to help people
  • Organisational and planning ability
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to remain calm in high demand situations
  • Ability to exercise appropriate initiative and a proactive approach
  • A willingness to be flexible, innovative and undertake other duties as required
  • Empathy and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

You will pride yourself on being one step ahead of your executives. 

For the health and safety of staff and patients all NMH staff are required to be vaccinated in accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
