About the service:
The Clinical Records Department provides records for many areas of Waikato Hospital on a 24/7 basis. These records may be required by our Emergency Department, Wards, Outpatient clinics or other areas. These records may be located within the Clinical Records Department or elsewhere in the hospital.
About the role:
A fulltime position is available in the Clinical Records Department. The hours of work for this position are rostered 80 hours per fortnight, which includes work on Public Holidays, weekends, and nights.
Outside of normal working hours these positions work in a sole charge capacity and applicants need to be confident to work unsupervised and to travel around the Waikato Hospital campus to obtain medical records.
Required skills & experience:
We are seeking a customer focussed person who has a commitment to work to a high standard. Applicants need to pay attention to detail and work to a high degree of accuracy.
Applicants will also need to have a good command of the English language and be easily understood on the phone.
Clerical experience is essential and a working knowledge of computer based systems, e.g. Windows & Excel, preferred.

Responsibilities of the role:
Other duties that the applicant will be expected to do involve the filing of medical records and reports, pulling records for outpatient clinics, answering the phone, scanning documents into our computer system and dealing with Privacy Act requests and associated tasks as time allows. Your cover letter needs to sell your abilities and past experience.
Full training will be given and familiarity with medical terminology will be an advantage.
