We are seeking an experienced pharmacy technician (level 5 or 6) to join our Pharmacy Service in a senior role. This is a brand new position put in place to help provide leadership to a growing service. Responsibility and accountability for keeping the pharmacy assistant, and other team members involved in supply, motivated and supported are key to the role so this position will be well suited to an organised, enthusiastic technician who likes to lead others. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy and a good knowledge of supply chain processes are desirable.
You will be working as part of a larger pharmacy team also, in particularly supporting your other Senior Pharmacy technician colleagues, so will get to know and contribute to other parts of the pharmacy service also. A great role for someone keen to develop their leadership capabilities and have variety in their role. Remuneration will sit on the pharmacy technician ‘designated position’ scale to reflect these additional responsibilities.
Waikato Pharmacy Services provides services to all of Waikato DHB hospitals, is based in a tertiary level teaching hospital servicing approximately 700 beds, in one of the most diverse and geographically widespread regions in the country. This 1 FTE permanent position will be spread over a Monday to Friday roster with occasional rostered Saturdays and Public Holiday involvement. Training and further learning is encouraged and supported.

Waikato Hospital is the Midland regional referral centre for multiple specialties including trauma surgery, oncology, and neurology.
