We have an exciting opportunity for a Ministerial Services Manager to be part of the Three Waters Reform Programme. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be at the forefront of a major New Zealand reform as we transform the water sector (drinking water, wastewater and stormwater) to ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.
We are looking for a Manager Ministerial Services—Three Waters Reform to lead a team that is committed to managing a fast-paced workload in a way that increases both transparency, and the public's trust and confidence in the reform programme. This is a proactive role where you will be given a mandate to lead a high performing team within a programme that places a lot of value on the work of your team.
The Ministerial Services team within the Three Waters Reform Programme manages the provision of information to both the public and Minister of Local Government, and also provides high quality support to the wider Three Waters Reform team and National Transition Unit.
The Ministerial Services team does this by compiling responses to Official Information Act Requests, providing draft responses to correspondence and Parliamentary questions received by the Minister, dealing with requests for information from private secretaries, and by providing advice around these areas to other staff within the Three Waters Reform Programme.
The Manager Ministerial Services—Three Waters Reform provides leadership of the Ministerial service functions and assists the Executive Directors and Minister to satisfy the public accountability interest in the reform programme-s activities.
If you thrive on cutting edge projects, a genuine challenge, and knowing that what you do, you do for the good of New Zealand, we would very much like to hear from you.
The Mahi - Three Waters Reform Programme
In July 2020, the Government launched the Three Waters Reform Programme - a multi-year programme to improve the safety, quality, resilience, accessibility, and performance of New Zealand-s drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services, in a way that is efficient and affordable. Currently over 70 councils own and operate most of New Zealand-s water services and face issues funding infrastructure, complying with safety standards and environmental expectations, dealing with natural hazards and climate change involving water infrastructure, and supporting population growth. The Government is progressing the Three Waters Reform to shift the management of three waters services to four publicly-owned water service entities from July 2024.
