At Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau, everyone feels they play a part in delivering healthcare that is unique. When you work with and for people who care about you, there's nothing more inspiring or motivating.
Te Whatu Ora is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.
Achieving the best health outcomes for our patients starts with expecting the best from ourselves, and right now Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau is looking for exceptional Emergency Registrars to join our team in January 2023.
Northland is a popular place to work and we look for the best. You will gain excellent practical experience in managing very sick patients reflecting the high health needs of the region. Road trauma, farm trauma, beach trauma: you name it and we look after it.
The Department of Emergency Medicine is accredited for 12 months ACEM advanced training and paediatric log book requirements. You will work side by side with a dedicated team including 15 very experienced emergency physicians. The SMO group provides close supervision for trainees with a commitment to clinical teaching. You will gain experience in many procedures and develop your clinical skills to be the best. The SMOs enthusiastically lead our weekly RMO teaching sessions as well as teaching for those sitting examinations. Rotations to other specialty services (ICU, anaesthetics, paediatrics, and medicine) are established.
The department is well supported by all the other services. Radiology has the latest CT scanner, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and Emergency Medicine staff actively utilise ultrasound in their patient care, with 2 machines in the ED including the latest Sonosite.
