Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are excited to offer the opportunity for an experienced Hand Therapist to join our Outpatient Hand therapy, Physiotherapy and Podiatry team for CCDHB, working across Wellington Regional Hospital (WRH), Kenepuru Community Hospital (KCH) and Kapiti Health centre. This position is predominantly based at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals.
The Hand Therapist in this role will assess and treat people of all ages with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions following injury, acute & elective surgery and those with progressive and chronic health conditions. The role may include input into orthopaedic clinics. The Hand Therapist may mentor and support rotational staff and undergraduate students to support the development of clinical skills, as well as supporting colleagues in other clinical areas as the need arises.
This position is an opportunity for an individual interested in delivering excellence as part of a team of highly skilled, highly motivated and supportive outpatient therapists. Experienced therapists in this team are involved in clinical based audits, research and DHB projects. We offer on-going professional development opportunities including a well established in-service programme, targeted team training and formal supervision.

You will join a thriving and motivated outpatient Hand therapy, Physiotherapy & Podiatry team that works across 3 sites. The wider outpatient Therapy team includes therapists working in haemophilia, hand therapy (both physiotherapists and occupational therapists), pelvic health, respiratory and musculoskeletal; and alongside the podiatry team. The team are passionate about making a difference to the lives and function of their clients.
Moū - About you
You will be an experienced Hand Therapist with a minimum of four years clinical experience, and at least two years working as a Hand Therapist. Ideally you will be a registered Hand Therapist, or working towards registration. You will thrive in a high paced environment where you are encouraged to work with autonomy. Ideally you will have experience working with ACC clients, as this makes up a portion of the clinical caseload of this role.
