Senior Learning & Development Consultant - Regulatory Learning at New Zealand Transport Agency, Wellington

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is an exciting time for learning and development at Waka Kotahi as we embed our new Centre for Learning and Development. This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise as we continue to develop a centre of excellence in learning and drive a learning culture.

In this role you will be part of a team that delivers our 'Regulatory learning programme' which is designed to lift the Regulatory and Compliance capability of our people and support Waka Kotahi in becoming a 'world-class regulator'.

This role is specifically focussed on the delivery of our Regulatory learning programme (in topics such as Situational Safety, Investigations and Interviewing skills) by providing face to face and virtual facilitation, mentoring and coaching to our front-line regulatory practitioners.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience of working in the Regulatory and Compliance sector (ideally with front line practitioner experience)
  • Experience in facilitating/delivering learning (face to face or virtually)
  • Experience of mentoring or coaching
  • Adult learning design and development knowledge.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Qualification in Adult Education, Learning and Development/Training and/or equivalent relevant experience.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
