Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Principal Advisor role sits within the Assurance team in the Programme & Standards Group. The Assurance team's purpose is to make sure that Transport Services is a learning business group that is continuously improving, and consistently achieving high-quality outcomes in line with our requirements.

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the establishment of our continuous improvement function and assurance review programme (stage gates, lessons learnt, contract management and others) to make sure that Transport Services is a learning organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: assurance and quality, continuous improvement, business and technical process design, business and technical strategy development, training and education, and implementation and change management and delivery.
• Proven track record that demonstrates project management capability and the ability to enable the delivery of complex strategic outcomes through others.
• Excellent communication skills able to translate complex concepts into easily understandable messaging and extensive experience working with stakeholders and other parties.
• Demonstrated ability in analysing data and trends, and drawing conclusions on the findings, and ensuring that information is accurately interpreted and disseminated
• Display a high level of customer service, providing timely, accurate and high-quality provision of all services.
• Sound knowledge of infrastructure delivery coupled with a good understanding of the transport system, transport construction and maintenance and roading procurement in New Zealand.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
