Elective Caesarean Midwife (Full/Part-Time), Maternity Ward South, CM Health at Counties Manukau District Health Board (South Auckland), Auckland

 Monday-Friday 9am-3pm (hours negotiable)

At Counties Manukau District Health Board you have the autonomy to make decisions and our registered midwives and nurses' work in partnership with the women and their families/whanau. We provide care that recognises values and respects the uniqueness of the individual.

An exciting part time opportunity, has become available for a Registered Midwife to provide support for women through their Elective Caesarean Section.  This role will involve preparing women for Caesarean Section and thereafter provide support to them with Skin to Skin in theatre and recovery room, breast feeding initiation and the transferring of mother and baby back to the Maternity Ward’s. This role will also provide partner support.

When there are no scheduled Elective Caesarean Sections, you will be required to work within the inpatient Maternity Service.  You will be part of a great team environment, working in a vibrant and culturally diverse community, with a real family focus.

Essential:

  • Registered Midwife with the NZ Midwifery Council
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years post grad experience
